Mini-C Ship Security Alert System ( SSAS ) |
The TT-3000SSA System is based upon the well-known and reliable Inmarsat-C service, known for its unique role in maritime safety and for more than a decade an integral part of the IMO's GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System). It has been developed by Thrane & Thrane to supply customers with a system that fulfils the new SOLAS requirements from IMO (International Maritime Organisation).
Features :
- Reliability: Based on the existing Inmarsat-C service, renowned for reliability and for more than a decade part of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System.
- Cost-effectiveness: No monthly subscription fees - one time installation cost only. Airtime costs charged per transmission only.
- Ship Security Alert: The TT-3000SSA alerts are sent as covert message. This functionality enables direct routing to a selected destination address. The system enables secure remote configuration of destination addresses. System test and end-to-end test-alert functionality.
- Flexibility: Total flexibility in routing to anti piracy centres, e-mail addresses, GSM phones, fax, telex, telephone modems and other Inmarsat-C terminals.
- Tracking features: The TT-3000SSA System offers the opportunity to use additional fleet tracking software, which will enhance Vessel Monitoring Systems (VMS) and fleet tracking possibilities.

| AIS |
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has introduced new requirements for safety equipment on board. According to Resolution MSC.74 (69), Annex 3, all SOLAS vessels had to have installed AIS (Automatic Identification System) transponders in the period from 2002 and 2004 according to the pre-defined deadlines for different categories of ships.
The AIS system allows all AIS equipped vessels to automatically exchange data regarding navigation and vessel specific information among the vessels themselves or to shore-base AIS installations. The AIS data is shown on suitable displays on board the ship, and will help foresee dangerous situations and facilitate communications between the vessels involved, thus increasing safety at sea.
As the AIS transponder is communicating on a VHF data-link, the AIS is able to track vessels that might be out of sight, even for the radar, and to “see around corners” and obstacles, so that mariners will be able to prepare the navigation changes before visual contact is made.
Outstanding opportunities for safe navigation have been given with the SAILOR UAIS1900 system onboard vessels. Especially in dangerous or much frequented waters, the SAILOR UAIS1900 provides excellent information on other vessels in the area and improves safe navigation. Data, such as safety related navigational information can be received automatically from all other AIS systems within VHF range. The AIS system can also be used for transmission of text messages from one AIS system to another, or broadcast to all AIS systems within VHF range. This is particularly useful for broadcasting information on traffic, port conditions, pilots or safety matters. |

SAILOR SE-II and SGE-II Satellite EPIRBs
Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon
The SAILOR SE-II and SGE-II Satellite EPIRBs are satellite distress beacons designed to operate in conjunction with the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite search and rescue system.
The SE-II and the SGE-II is identical except for the GPS built into the the SGE-II, which improves the accurasy of the position transmitted to shore when activated. The EPIRBs are supplied with either a manual release bracket or with an automatic hydrostatic release bracket, which will automatically release the EPIRB in situation where the vessel is sinking.
This system locates beacons transmitting on the 406MHz frequency to within 5km (3nm). Once Search And Rescue (SAR) units are at the distress scene the beacon’s 121.5MHz homing transmitter and it’s high intensity xenon strobe light aid final location even in poor visibility.
SAILOR SART II
9 GHz Search and Rescue Transponder
All products from Thrane & Thrane's SAILOR product programme are designed for the rough conditions at sea and the SAILOR SART II is no exception.
The SAILOR SART II is small and easy to use, offering safety in critical situations. The SAILOR SART II is a 9 GHz X-band Radar transceiver and has been designed for assisting rescue operations in accordance with IMO, GMDSS requirements.
When a radar signal is received from a vessel or aircraft, the SAILOR SART II automatically transmits a response signal, which clearly identifies the survival craft on the radar screen by means of a stream of 12 in-line dots. Once activated, the SAILOR SART II will remain in standby mode for over 96 hours. |
